Privacy Policy

Dawn ("we", "us") makes a morning-ritual app that locks distracting apps until you finish a short gratitude and intention ritual. We built Dawn to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Dawn has no accounts and no login.
- Your gratitudes and intentions stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud. We can't read them.
- We cannot see which apps you choose to block. Apple's Screen Time keeps that private, even from us.
- We never sell your data.
Information we collect
Your ritual entries. The gratitudes and intentions you write are stored locally on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, they sync through your own private iCloud account so they're available across your devices. They are not sent to or stored on our servers.
App-blocking selections. Dawn uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) to lock the apps you choose. By Apple's design, the specific apps you select are handled entirely on your device and are never shared with us. We only know how many items you selected, not which ones.
Subscription information. When you start a free trial or subscribe, Apple processes the purchase. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, which receives your purchase status and an anonymous identifier. We never receive your card details. Apple handles all payment.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, Dawn schedules a local reminder at your chosen wake time, on your device.
Feedback you send. If you use the in-app feedback form, we receive the message you write (and a name if you add one) by email so we can reply. This is delivered through our email provider, Resend.
On the website. If you submit your email on usedawn.app to get the App Store link, we store that email to send it to you and, occasionally, product updates. You can unsubscribe anytime.
How we use information
- To make the app work: locking and unlocking apps, saving your entries, syncing via iCloud.
- To manage your free trial and subscription.
- To respond to feedback and support requests.
- To send the App Store link or product updates, if you asked for them.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Third parties
We share data only with the services that help us run Dawn:
- Apple:app distribution, Screen Time, iCloud sync, and payment. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat:subscription management. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Resend:delivers feedback emails and the website email link. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
Data retention and deletion
Your entries live on your device and in your iCloud. Deleting your data in the app (Settings) or deleting the app removes the entries from your device. Your iCloud data is controlled by you in your Apple settings. To remove an email you submitted on the website, use the unsubscribe link or email us.
Children
Dawn is rated 4+ and intended for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Because Dawn keeps your entries on your own device and iCloud, you already control them directly. For anything else, email us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top.
